Budgetify Is Now Free: No Ads, No Subscription, and an Optional Encrypted Web Sync
Budgetify 1.4 makes the whole Android app free, with no ads, no subscription and every feature unlocked. Here's what the app does, who it's for, and how the optional end-to-end encrypted Web Sync works.
Starting with version 1.4.0, Budgetify is completely free. No ads. No subscription. No locked features. Everything that used to be part of Pro (unlimited wallets, Google Drive backup, charts, exports) is now available to everyone.
There's now just one optional purchase, Web Sync, and you pay for it once.
Here's what changed, what the app does, and how Web Sync works.
Why I made it free
Budgetify used to have five options: Free, Ad-Free, Pro Monthly, Pro Yearly and Lifetime. That was too many decisions for something that should be simple, and ads inside a finance app never sat right with me.
Budgetify was built on one idea: your money is your business. A free app with no ads and no tracking fits that idea far better than a paywall.
What Budgetify does
Budgetify is an offline-first money manager for Android. You don't need an account, and your data lives on your phone.
Track every transaction
Log income, expenses and transfers in seconds, including transfer fees between wallets. Organise them with your own categories, labels and notes.
Every wallet, one net worth
Add asset wallets (cash, bank, savings, e-wallets, crypto) and liability wallets (credit cards, loans). Budgetify calculates your net worth in real time across all of them, in more than one currency. Tap once to hide balances when you're in public.
Recurring transactions that run themselves
Salary, rent, bills and subscriptions can post automatically when they're due, or wait for you to confirm. Attach reminders so nothing slips, and filter schedules by frequency or status.
Budgets, debts and goals
- Category budgets show how much you've spent against your limit.
- Debts keep track of what you owe and to whom.
- Saving goals track progress toward what you're saving for.
- Subscription tracker totals what your subscriptions cost per month and per year.
Reports and charts
Daily, monthly and yearly charts for income and expenses, plus PDF and CSV/Excel export.
150+ currencies
Set your own exchange rates, or refresh live rates up to twice a month.
Encrypted backups
Every backup is AES-256 encrypted. Save it on your phone or in your own Google Drive, schedule automatic backups, and restore any past version.
Make it yours
Auto, Light, Dark or true-black AMOLED themes. Lock the app with a PIN, biometrics or your screen lock. Resize text, icons and spacing. Available in English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Korean and Dutch.
Who it's for
- Anyone getting control of their spending who wants clarity without a bank login or a cloud account
- Freelancers tracking irregular income across several accounts
- Travellers and expats managing money in more than one currency
- Households keeping one clear picture of their money
- Anyone tired of spreadsheets and subscription finance apps
Web Sync: the one optional purchase
Many people asked for the same thing: "Can I see my budget on my laptop?"
Web Sync is the answer. It's a one-time $9.99 purchase inside the Android app. Turn it on and your data syncs to a private online account, which you can open in any browser at budgetify.mrvampcruz.com.
- Same account, same data. Your wallets, transactions, budgets and recurring bills appear on the web, with no exporting or importing.
- Two-way sync. Edit on the web and your phone catches up. Edit on your phone and the browser updates within seconds. There's no sync button to press.
- Built for the jobs a phone is bad at, like catching up on a month of receipts, fixing a batch of categories, or reading a year of history on a big screen.
End-to-end encrypted
Web Sync is end-to-end encrypted.
Your amounts, names, notes and categories are encrypted on your device, with a key derived from your password, before anything is uploaded. My server only ever receives data it cannot read. Your password never reaches the server either.
That design has one honest trade-off. When you set up Web Sync, you get a recovery key. If you lose both your password and your recovery key, your synced data can't be recovered, by you or by me. Keep that key somewhere safe.
What about the web app's price?
The web app is free while it's in transition. Fees for the web app, or for some of its features, may come later, but nothing is decided yet. Web Sync itself is a one-time purchase, not a subscription.
Web Sync is completely optional. The Android app is complete without it.
